The Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry maintains a public directory of member dentists and, separately, two narrower accreditation tiers. The distinction matters, because the terminology on practice websites frequently collapses it.
- Accredited Member — the Academy's case-assessed accreditation. Twenty-nine dentists hold it worldwide.
- Fellow — the Academy's senior tier, held by eight dentists worldwide, all of whom also hold Accredited Member status.
- Directory member — appears in the Academy's public "Find A Biomimetic Dentist" listing, which contains approximately 198 records. Membership indicates affiliation with the Academy. It does not indicate completed accreditation.
A practitioner listed in the general directory may be an accomplished adhesive dentist; the listing simply is not evidence of that on its own. Where a practice describes itself as "biomimetic", the tier is the checkable fact, and it is checkable in about thirty seconds at the link given under each entry below.

What to Establish Before a Restorative Case
Biomimetic restorative dentistry is defined by the adhesive protocol, not by the material. The questions that separate a biomimetic approach from a conventional one are procedural and a practice can answer them directly:
- Is Immediate Dentin Sealing placed at the preparation appointment? IDS seals freshly cut dentin before impression, and its omission is the single most common departure from the protocol.
- How is a deep proximal margin managed? Deep margin elevation relocates a subgingival margin coronally so the peripheral seal zone can be established in enamel.
- Is the C-factor of the preparation being managed? Configuration factor governs polymerisation stress, and stress-reduced layering is the mechanism by which debonding is avoided.
- Is an onlay being considered before a full crown? The structural comparison between the two is the decision that determines how much sound tooth structure is removed.
Case fees in New York City are typically quoted fee-for-service, cash pay. Published ranges for indirect biomimetic restorations run approximately $1,500–$2,500 per inlay and $1,800–$3,000 per onlay, with full-mouth adhesive rehabilitation quoted case-by-case. These are educational ranges, not quotations, and vary with practice, tooth and complexity.
