About Advanced Dental

Advanced Dental is a general dental practice at 489 Highway 32 in Lebanon, Missouri, providing restorative, cosmetic and orthodontic treatment in one location. Its restorative workflow is built around chairside CEREC 3D imaging and in-office milling: a small camera records an optical impression in place of a physical mold, CAD/CAM software models the restoration on screen, and a diamond-tooled mill cuts the inlay, onlay, veneer or crown in the office, after which the ceramic is adhesively bonded to the remaining tooth structure and light-cured. Diagnostics include digital radiography, an intra-oral camera, DIAGNOdent for early detection of hard-to-see caries, and 3D CT imaging used when planning restorations and guided implant placement. Air abrasion is available to remove decayed tooth structure by particle blasting rather than drilling. Gum disease is managed with LANAP laser therapy, and the practice states the links between periodontal health and systemic conditions such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation are offered.

Common Questions

Can an inlay or onlay be completed in a single appointment?

Yes. The practice runs CEREC 3D imaging alongside an in-office milling unit, so imaging, design, milling and placement of an inlay, onlay, veneer or crown can be carried out in one visit. Work that previously required a physical mold, a temporary restoration and a second appointment is instead completed chairside.

How is the prepared tooth recorded before a restoration is milled?

A small camera captures a three-dimensional optical impression of the tooth, replacing the older physical mold. CAD/CAM software is then used to build and modify the restoration model on screen before the specifications are sent to the in-office milling machine, which cuts the ceramic using diamond-coated tools.

Is decay ever removed without a drill at this practice?

Air abrasion is available. Decayed tooth structure is removed by blasting particles of silica, aluminum oxide or baking soda at the lesion rather than cutting it with a bur, and the practice states that the procedure requires neither numbing nor drilling.

What does the practice use to identify decay early?

Digital radiographs are produced within moments and reviewed with the patient during the appointment, an intra-oral camera gives a clearer view inside the mouth than a mirror, and DIAGNOdent is used for the early detection of caries that are hard to see. The stated aim is preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible.

How is gum disease treated, and how does the practice frame its wider risks?

Treatment is with LANAP, the Laser Assisted New Attachment Protocol: a thin laser fiber is passed between gum and tooth to target diseased tissue while leaving healthy tissue intact, without cutting or suturing. Periodontal risk assessments are conducted annually, and the practice describes untreated gum disease as a cause of tooth loss, bone loss and an aggravating factor in systemic conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.
